Augmented Reality Sandbox

  • The AR sandbox is an educational tool that is used to explore how water moves on the earth’s surface and how its flow relates to land surface shape, elevation, and slope. This material is a large standing sandbox and requires electricity to use. If you are a local partner interested in borrowing AR sandbox please reach out to Ben Ruley at ben.ruley@mn.nacdnet.net.

Roots Display

  • In partnership with the Minnesota Assocation of Conservation District Employees (MACDE), Stearns Conservation District is pleased to offer use of a Magic Roots Display produced by Blue Thumb/Metro Blooms. This interactive display demonstrates the dramatic root length of native plants to emphasize their role in reducing soil health, improving erosion, increasing infiltration, and related lessons. Enviroscape

  • The Enviroscape is an educational tool meant to increase awareness of water pollution. It is a portable 3D watershed model that shows how water pollution occurs and how it can be prevented. Three Rivers Waterfestival

The Stearns Conservation District participated in the Three Rivers Waterfestival at the College of Saint Benedict in October of 2025.

Shoreline Restoration Tour

The Stearns Conservation District hosted a Shoreline Restoration Tour around Lake Koronis and Rice Lake.
