ABOUT US

Our mission is to support voluntary conservation actions to preserve and enhance Stearns County’s natural resources.

Stearns
Conservation
District

The Stearns Conservation District (SCD) is a local unit of government that manages and directs natural resource management programs at the local level. The SCD works in both urban and rural settings, with landowners and with other units of government, to carry out a program for the conservation, use, and development of soil, water, and related resources.

The SCD has adopted the following as our Plans of Operation:

  • North Fork Crow River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan

  • Sauk River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan

  • Mississippi River St. Cloud Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan

  • Mississippi River Sartell Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan – under development

For more details on these plans, visit our Plans & Progress page.
