SERVICES

We exist to support voluntary conservation actions that preserve and enhance Stearns County’s natural resources.

Areas that
we service.

The Stearns Conservation District is a local unit of government that manages and directs natural resource management programs at the local level. The SCD works in both urban and rural settings, with landowners and with other units of government, to carry out a program for the conservation, use, and development of soil, water, and related resources.

We provide technical assistance to landowners free of charge. We can also provide guidance in pursuing financial assistance for your project. See the services below for additional details on the types of projects we can assist with.

Shoreline Restoration (07).JPG
Wildlife Habitat (1).jpg

We work with producers and landowners to help identify and assist with solving agricultural resource concerns.

We can assist lake shore owners who voluntarily want to improve and restore their shoreline.

We offer a variety of wildlife habitat options. We can help develop a plan to enhance and protect wildlife habitat on your land.

Outreach and Education (3).JPG

We are dedicated to providing educational opportunities and materials for adults and youth throughout the county.

Community Stewardship (4).jpg

We can help bring nature to your doorstep. Many urban conservation practices can help improve the quality of our lakes, and streams by reducing stormwater runoff.

Drinking Water (3).JPG

Whether your drinking water comes from a private well or a public water system, what the water flows through on its way down to the aquifer determines the quality of water we get back.
