Farm the Best Conserve the Rest Field Day 2026
Soil Health Management for YOUR Land

Register for the Field Day by August 17th:
Join us for Farm the Best Conserve the Rest Field Day on August 27th in Sauk Centre! This field day is designed for landowners, farmers, and anyone interested in conservation, soil health, and wildlife habitat management.
This isn't your ordinary field day! In the morning, we are having topics centered around soil health, cover crops, and how to make no-till work on your farm. You will get to hear directly from farmers implementing conservation tillage practices and also learn from professionals about weed management in no-till systems. There will also be talks about how to retrofit your equipment without having to buy new.
A free lunch catered from Greenwald Pub is included. During lunch you will hear from SCD staff about the various cost share programs that are available. There will also be a cover crop make and take activity where you can make your own cover crop seed mix to take home.
Stick around for the afternoon for information about wildlife habitat topics and tree care from local experts! Hear everything you need to know about CRP and take a hayride out to view the Weber's CRP land along with food plots and wildlife plantings. Other topics will include wetland restorations and water storage along with tree care management with topics on Emerald Ash Borer, Oak Wilt, and Buckthorn.
You can come for the morning, come for the afternoon, or stay for the full day! See full agenda below.
Registration is required by August 17th to ensure a lunch. You can register HERE or call the office at 320-251-78900 ext. 3.
