Envirothon
The Stearns Conservation District helps to plan the Area 2 Envirothon every year. The Envirothon is an environmental competition for students in grades 6th-12th (6-8 Junior Division and 9-12 Senior Division) who have a desire to learn more about Minnesota’s natural resources. It is a chance for students to showcase their knowledge about our natural resources. The program helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Students compete in 5 different learning stations throughout the competition. Learning stations are presented by natural resource professionals.

Eight area competitions are held throughout Minnesota every year. The top three Senior Envirothon teams from each area progress to the state competition. The winner of Minnesota's State competition advances to the National Envirothon.
The goal of this competition is to encourage academic excellence while exposing students to Minnesota’s ecology.
If you are a teacher or know a teacher interested in the Envirothon please contact Abbie Meyer or Megan Herbst with the Stearns Conservation District at abigail.meyer@mn.nacdnet.net or megan.herbst@mn.nacdnet.net.
