Notification of Plan Development and Invitation to Submit Priority Issues and Plan Expectations for the North Fork Crow River Watershed Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan Renewal Project

The local government units (LGUs) within the North Fork Crow River Watershed intend to renew the North Fork Crow River Watershed Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan as part of Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) One Watershed, One Plan program (1W1P). The North Fork Crow River Watershed project planning boundary includes an area of over 945,259 acres (see map below). This planning region contains a variety of land uses and unique natural resources.


LGU’s have entered into a Collaborative Agreement for the purpose of amending the watershed plan. This correspondence serves to invite all recipients to submit local natural resource management issues they feel the process and the resulting plan should address (e.g. land use plans or special ordinances, special projects/plans like wastewater facilities, wellhead protection plans, impairments of top concern, areas of high value for protection, etc. that could use or need a plan connection). The North Fork Crow River Watershed Collaborative is excited to begin this process of watershed-based planning.
