Mississippi River-Saint Cloud 1W1P Input Requested until Feb. 15

The Mississippi River-Saint Cloud Watershed Planning Group is kicking off an exciting initiative to develop a Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan for the Mississippi River-Saint Cloud Watershed under the One Watershed, One Plan program. Restoration, protection, and preservation are the primary focus areas of the plan. The result will be a locally driven, long-range roadmap for achieving our watershed goals.

The planning consultant partner, ISG, will be facilitating an in-person and virtual public open house to gather feedback that will inform project priorities. Examples of watershed priorities include the health of lakes and rivers, soil health and conservation-minded agriculture, stormwater management, and drinking water protection and improvement within groundwater and the Mississippi River.

An in-person public meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Sherburne History Center in Becker, MN. A virtual public comment platform will be open for two weeks starting January 31 via the Mille Lacs Soil and Water Conservation District website: millelacsswcd.org. If you are unable to join the meeting this evening in person, please share your input using the virtual interactive website links (either one):

The website will remain open for your input until February 15, 2023.

As a member of the community with valuable insight, we encourage you to voice your concerns about local water resources, provide feedback throughout the process, and work with us to promote environmental and economic vitality throughout the region. We look forward to working with you!
