Megan (Molitor) Herbst was born and raised on a dairy farm in rural Benton County. She began working for the Stearns Conservation District in 2011. With her role as a Conservation Planner, Herbst works with livestock producers on developing nutrient management plans and implementing conservation best management practices such as cover crops, reduced tillage and irrigation water management.
Herbst enjoys working with agricultural producers on a variety of projects and the diversity of her daily workload. She has been involved with monitoring projects in Stearns County including Discovery Farms Minnesota and the DNR Cooperative Groundwater Monitoring Program. She also assists with Commercial Animal Waste Technician recertification and testing, the Ag BMP Loan Program and the Stearns County Cooperative Weed Management Area Program.
