Greg obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University in Environmental Studies. He began his career working in the planning and zoning office for Stearns County Environmental Services. Additionally, he worked for the City of Elk River, and the Minnesota DNR Division of Waters before joining Stearns County SWCD in 2000 as the Lakeshed Specialist.
Berg’s current role is Implementation Team Manager and Riparian Resources Specialist, he works with private landowners as well as local, state, and federal agencies to implement and identify objectives of the water and habitat plans. Berg also assists with natural resource planning and protection. His focus is erosion control and restoration practices along lake and rivers throughout the County. Berg’s passion is to protect the natural resources while also serving as a liaison to private landowners to accomplish their needs, wants, and goals.
Berg enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, traveling/sightseeing, and watching sports. Berg has served on the board of the Minnesota Erosion Control for the past 21 years and enjoys the variety of projects and involvement the organization has to offer.
