Wildlife Easements and Restoration in Spunk Creek Watershed

A Stearns County family partnered with the Stearns CD, Minnesota Land Trust, and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to enhance and permanently protect over 80 acres within the Spunk Creek Watershed.
The partnership worked together to complete a Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contract and a MLT perpetual Conservation Easement along with prairie restorations. This was done to help protect and improve water quality and wildlife habitat while at the same time helping the landowners build a legacy of habitat protection.
