The contractor completed the installation of the permanent stormwater treatment practices as part of the Sartell County Road 1 reconstruction project. These treatment practices include stormwater runoff control and critical area planting. These practices are helping to settle out the sediment and other debris being carried in the stormwater runoff that comes off the streets from 610 acres or 44% developed areas of the City of Sartell.
The stormwater treatment practices included the installation of a StormTech underground stormwater filtration system, a dozen sump manholes with baffles, and the permanent stabilization of 445 linear feet of the Mississippi River streambank.
This project will help protect the City of St. Cloud’s drinking water supply. The City of St. Cloud pulls their drinking water from the Mississippi River not too far downstream from this project.
