This informative tour showcased firsthand how residents on Lake Koronis and Rice Lake are protecting their shorelines. These efforts are reducing erosion and runoff, improving water quality, and creating food and habitat for wildlife. Attendees learned the benefits of natural buffers and native plantings for stabilizing shorelines and preventing soil loss. They also learned how rain gardens and native vegetation filter runoff and keep pollutants out of our lakes and rivers and how to create healthy habitats that provide food and shelter for a variety of animals.
